After graduating The University of Michigan, Robert Schwartz received a Master’s degree from Yale University School of Architecture. Rob apprenticed with Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown in Philadelphia and was a research fellow and archive assistant at the Kahn Collection at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied and cataloged early drawings of Louis I Kahn. Rob taught courses in materials and construction at Yale, and built furniture and cabinetry for several years before founding Robert Schwartz Architect, specializing in residential projects and the design and fabrication of furniture and architectural hardware, including a utility patent issued for a line of architectural accessories made from metal and stone.
